Job summary

K & W Healthcare in London is seeking a Nursing Associate to join the MDT in Primary Care, delivering compassionate, person-centred care and bridging the gap between support workers and registered nurses. This ARRS-funded post supports the PCN’s objectives, enhancing capacity and improving patient access to care.

The role involves diagnostics, minor procedures, immunisations and chronic disease support, with emphasis on documentation and quality improvement within a GP practice setting.

Qualifications

• NMC registration as a Nursing Associate and current practicing status.
• Understanding of primary care, community care, or long-term condition management.
• Experience with smear tests.
• Experience delivering immunisations for adults and children.
• Trained on ILS.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a Nursing Associate in a clinical setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Commitment to CPD.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high quality, compassionate care under supervision of registered nurses.
• Support patients through outpatient journey including diagnostics, minor procedures and follow up care.
• Monitor vital signs and record observations and escalated concerns.
• Assist with minor clinical procedures and support nurses/GPs during diagnostic or interventional appointments.
• Perform venepuncture, ECGs, wound care, smear tests and immunisations.
• Support long-term condition reviews (as competency allows).
• Maintain accurate patient documentation using EMIS, Docman and SystemOne.
• Contribute to quality improvement activities, audits and service development projects.
• Comply with infection prevention and health and safety regulations.
• Participate in clinical audits as required by clinical staff.
• Ensure adequate stock levels to allow care to be provided.
