Job summary

South West London and St Georges Mental Health Trust seeks a dedicated nurse to provide safe, patient‑centred care in the Emergency Department. You will perform observations and escalate deteriorating patients according to the care pathway.

Key duties include basic life support, ECG, cannulation, venipuncture, catheterisation, NG tubes, wound care, plaster casts, and accurate record keeping. You will work with the MDT to meet the Emergency 4‑hour target and uphold NMC standards.

Qualifications

• Registered nurse with current NMC registration.
• Experience in ED or acute settings advantageous.
• Proven ability to maintain accurate clinical records in line with NMC standards.

Responsibilities

• Carry out patient observations and escalate deteriorating conditions.
• Perform basic life support for collapsed patients until help arrives.
• Assist safe transfer and handover of patients within department.
• Record 12-lead ECG, cannulation, venepuncture, catheterisation, NG tubes.
• Provide wound care, plaster casts and limb immobilisation.
• Maintain comprehensive records of care and patient condition.
