Job summary

Lakehouse Nursery, part of the Family First Group in Portishead, is hiring a Nursery Third in Charge. You’ll help children learn, play and grow in a safe, engaging setting, leading by example and supporting the leadership team.

The role offers full-time hours (40 per week) with flexible options, opportunities for career growth, and a strong focus on safeguarding and EYFS. You’ll work with a warm, inclusive team and contribute to excellent outcomes for children.

Qualifications

• Confident written and spoken English.
• Experience in an Early Years setting.
• Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding best practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the nursery leadership team by leading through positive role modelling and maintaining high standards.
• Guide and develop staff through coaching, supervision and team collaboration.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and carers through effective communication and support.
• Help maintain staffing, ratios and the smooth day-to-day running of the nursery.

Skills

Confident written English

Experience in an Early Years setting

Knowledge of EYFS and safeguarding
