Job summary

St Matthew's Church of England Primary and Nursery Academy in Derriford is seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant to work 22.5 hours per week during term time. The role supports the Early Years team to provide care, play-based learning and education for 3–5 year olds within the EYFS framework.

The successful candidate will have at least 1 year of relevant experience, a childcare qualification (NNEB/NVQ3/EYPS or willing to work towards EYPS) and a commitment to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of experience in a similar setting with children aged 3–5.
• Proven understanding of child development and play-based learning under EYFS.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care, fun and education under EYFS for nursery children.
• Maintain a safe, stimulating environment and adhere to health & safety requirements.
• Support the Early Years leader in delivering high-quality learning experiences.
