Job summary

Penryn Primary Academy and Nursery is seeking a Nursery Teaching Assistant (Level 2) to join the Early Years team on a permanent basis for 30 hours per week, term time plus 2 INSET days. The role supports children across EYFS indoors and outdoors, helping to foster a love of learning in a nurturing environment.

You will work with the Nursery Class Lead and EYFS team to promote development, wellbeing and positive behaviours while ensuring safeguarding requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Must have Level 2 Early Years qualification or equivalent recognised by the DfE.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths.
• Experience working with young children in an Early Years setting.
• Good understanding of the EYFS and child development.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills.
• Patient, nurturing, adaptable and resilient.
• Team working while using own initiative.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting welfare of children.

Responsibilities

• Support children across all EYFS areas including Communication and Language, Personal, Social and Physical Development, Literacy, Maths, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.
• Work with individuals, small groups and the whole class to promote high-quality learning through play.
• Create a safe, caring and stimulating environment to develop confidence, independence and curiosity.
• Assist with planning and organising learning activities in both indoor and outdoor settings.
• Act as Key Person and maintain positive relationships with children and families, communicating with parents.
