Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a caring SEN Teaching Assistant to join the Rainbow Room in Dewsbury, Wakefield. You will support pupils with additional needs, helping to create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment where every child can thrive.

Working closely with teachers and staff, you will deliver personalised activities, support in small groups and one-to-one, and promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing. A patient, empathetic and enthusiastic approach is essential.

SEN Teaching Assistant Rainbow Room

Dewsbury, Wakefield

We are looking for a caring and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school team in Dewsbury, Wakefield, working within their nurturing Rainbow Room provision.

This role involves supporting pupils with special educational needs, helping to create a safe, engaging, and inclusive environment where every child can thrive. You will work closely with teachers and other professionals to deliver tailored support, both in small groups and on a one-to-one basis.

Key responsibilities
  • Support pupils with a range of additional needs, including communication and sensory needs
  • Assist in delivering personalised learning activities
  • Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Help create a calm, structured, and supportive classroom environment
