The University Nursery offers facilities for children aged between 10 weeks and 5 years, with sections appropriate to the ages and development of the children. Reporting to the Manager, this role will exercise a high level of judgment regarding the operation of the Nursery Service at Cardiff University. The Section Leader is responsible for the care of a group of children within a certain age group, and for the supervision of Nursery Nurses and Nursery Assistants.
This post is fixed‑term for 1 year (maternity cover), 37.5 hours per week, 5 days out of 7. Hours are determined by the Line Manager so that the centre is staffed from 8:00am – 6:00pm. The 37.5‑hour contract attracts an uplift for hours 35‑37.5. Starting Salary: £25,449 per annum (Grade 3). This is a campus‑based role. The package includes 32 days holiday per year plus 8 bank holidays, training, and access to a range of staff discounts.
