Job summary

The Learning Experience in Leatherhead is seeking a Room Leader to guide a nursery room, deliver engaging activities, and ensure a safe, nurturing EYFS-aligned environment. You will monitor child development milestones, communicate with families, and support your team in delivering high-quality care and learning.

Ideal candidates hold a full Level 3+ Early Years qualification and have proven experience in Early Years settings, with strong safeguarding knowledge and excellent communication

Qualifications

• Full & relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification – essential.
• Experience in an Early Years setting, ideally as Room Leader or similar.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child protection.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver activities that meet children’s developmental needs.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment in line with EYFS standards.
• Monitor, record, and celebrate milestones in children’s development.
• Communicate effectively with families to build strong relationships.

Nursery Room Leader – Leatherhead

Salary: Up to £33,000 per year (depending on qualifications & experience)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Location: Leatherhead, Surrey

About You

We’re looking for someone with:

• Previous experience in an Early Years setting (ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, or Early Years Educator)


• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child protection


• Excellent communication skills and a passion for early childhood education
