Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Group Mottershead Drive is seeking a Nursery Room Leader to join our team. You will lead and support a dedicated staff to deliver outstanding early years education and care for children aged 0-4.

You will work alongside the Nursery Manager to ensure high-quality provision, mentor staff, and maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment in line with EYFS requirements.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy.
• Support the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality.
• Act as a role model promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
• Build strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support outcomes for children.
• Oversee the team’s implementation of EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities.
• Take charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence.
• Encourage continuous improvement through feedback and professional development.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).

Pay: £28,197 - £28,197 per Annum

Working Hours: 38 hours a week working 4 longer days with a day off

About Our Nursery

The Old Station Nursery Mottershead is dedicated to creating a warm and inviting environment where children aged 0-4 start their early years education. Our outdoor learning area consists of three separated spaces that provide a mixture of surfaces, play equipment, resources and activities for all children to explore, including our very own ‘Buggingham Palace’. The Old Station Nursery, located at the end of Mottershead Drive near Innsworth Primary School, with plenty of on-street parking.

What Being a Nursery Room Leader Involves

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while delivering exceptional care and education. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy.
• Supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality.
• Acting as a role model by promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
• Building strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children.
• Overseeing the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities.
• Taking charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence.
• Encouraging continuous improvement through feedback and supporting professional development.
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets each child’s needs.
