Job summary

The Old Station Nursery Innsworth seeks a dedicated Nursery Room Leader to guide a team in delivering outstanding early years education. You will mentor staff, support daily operations, and maintain high standards of care in a welcoming setting.

Requirements include Level 3 EY qualification or QTS, and full right to work in the UK. DBS checks are required. Location in Innsworth, Gloucestershire, with a generous benefits package.

Qualifications

• Level 3 Early Years qualification or QTS is required.
• DBS checks, references and right to work in the UK are mandatory.
• Experience leading a team in a childcare setting is desirable.
• Understanding and delivery of the EYFS framework is essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the team to deliver high-quality early years education with energy and care.
• Support the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth operations and consistency.
• Be a role model promoting initiative, creativity and high standards of care.
• Build strong relationships with families, colleagues and external agencies.
• Oversee EYFS implementation and learn through engaging activities.
• Take charge in the Nursery Manager’s absence to run daily operations.
• Encourage ongoing improvement and professional development.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and stimulating environment for every child.

To be considered for this role, you must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification or Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). We are unable to offer sponsorship for this role.

Pay: £28,810 - £28,810 per Annum

Working Hours: Monday - Friday 38 hours a week

About Our Nursery

The Old Station Nursery Innsworth provides exceptional childcare in a purpose-built, eco-friendly setting opposite Imjin Barracks. Our purpose-built nursery setting offers spacious, sunlit rooms ideal for exploration, featuring eco-friendly elements like a sedum roof and rainwater harvesting. Outside, our expansive garden exhibits a mud kitchen, vegetable garden, and engaging outdoor activities our children love. To locate The Old Station Nursery Innsworth, follow signs to HQ ARRC and turn opposite Imjin Store. Situated directly across from Imjin Barracks and just 5 minutes from the A40. There is parking available onsite next to Costcutter.

What Being a Nursery Room Leader Involves

As a Nursery Room Leader, you will work alongside the Nursery Manager to lead and inspire your team while delivering exceptional care and education. Key responsibilities include:

• Leading and mentoring the team to provide high-quality early years education with passion and energy.
• Supporting the Nursery Manager to ensure smooth nursery operations and consistent quality.
• Acting as a role model by promoting initiative, creativity, and high standards of care.
• Building strong relationships with families, colleagues, and external agencies to support the best outcomes for children.
• Overseeing the team’s implementation of the EYFS framework, ensuring engaging learning opportunities.
• Taking charge of nursery operations in the Nursery Manager’s absence.
• Encouraging continuous improvement through feedback and supporting professional development.
• Maintaining a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment that meets each child’s needs.
