Job summary

Monkey Puzzle Lightwater is seeking a Nursery Room Leader to join our caring, welcoming team. You will lead a dedicated group of early years practitioners and ensure high standards of safety and EYFS compliance.

Hours are 40 per week, Monday to Friday, with a starting salary of £29,536 per annum and progression opportunities within a supportive, award-winning nursery environment.

Qualifications

• Must hold a Level 3 Early Years qualification
• Safeguarding knowledge and good safeguarding practices
• At least 2 years’ nursery practitioner experience in EYFS settings

Responsibilities

• Support your team to grow and perform to a high standard while adhering to EYFS and legislation
• Create inspirational, creative, and effective learning environments for children
• Foster a happy, family‑like nursery culture and promote staff wellbeing
• Ensure safeguarding and child welfare are always managed to a high standard
• Implement the EYFS with strong child development understanding
• Report concerns to senior staff or relevant services
• Engage in partnership working with parents and partners to support child development
• Maintain clear and accurate records and reports
• Uphold quality standards across practice, environment, and resources

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting your team to grow and perform at a high standard, whilst ensuring that all legislation and EYFS frameworks are adhered to
• Engaging your team to create inspirational, creative and effective learning environments in line with the needs of the children and the nursery

• Ensuring the safety and welfare of children through a confident knowledge of safeguarding processes and procedures
• Implementation the EYFS with a good understanding of child development
• Reporting issues of concern to a senior team member or relevant services
• Partnership working with parents and our partners to ensure our children thrive
• Positive attitude with children, parents, colleagues and visitors to maintain our happy nursery
• Clear and accurate record keeping and report writing
• Promoting a high standard of quality within the nursery including practice, environment and resources in line with our nursery expectations

Essentials

• Minimum full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification
• Safeguarding Knowledge
• At least 2 year's experience working as a nursery practitioner or similar in an Early Years setting.
