Job summary

The Learning Experience in London’s East Finchley nursery is seeking an experienced Room Leader to guide a team and deliver developmentally appropriate learning in a safe, nurturing EYFS setting.

You will lead activities, monitor progress, and build strong relations with families while ensuring high standards of care and safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Essential Level 3+ Early Years qualification and experience in EYFS.
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding and child protection.
• Excellent communication and a passion for early childhood education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver activities meeting children’s developmental needs.
• Provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating EYFS environment.
• Monitor, record and celebrate milestones in development.

Salary: Up to £34,778 per year (depending on qualifications & experience)

Contract: Full-time, permanent

Your Role

As a Room Leader, You Will

• Plan and deliver activities that meet children’s developmental needs
• Provide a safe, nurturing, stimulating environment in line with EYFS standards
• Monitor, record, and celebrate milestones in children’s development
• Communicate effectively with families to build strong relationships
• Lead and support colleagues to maintain high-quality care and learning
• Ensure compliance with safeguarding and child protection policies

About You

• Full & relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification – essential
• Previous experience in an Early Years setting (ideally as a Room Leader, Nursery Practitioner, Nursery Nurse, or Early Years Educator)
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and child protection
• Excellent communication skills and a passion for early childhood education
• A commitment to delivering the highest standards of care
