Job summary

Little Elms Daycare Nursery & Pre-Schools is seeking a Nursery Practitioner for their Beckenham Queens Road site. The role offers a salary between £27,040 and £32,000 annually, with a welcome bonus of up to £2,000. The successful candidate must hold a Level 2/3 qualification in Early Years childcare and demonstrate excellent knowledge of the EYFS. Additional benefits include free daily lunch and childcare discounts. This role is subject to an Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Check.

Qualifications

• Level 2/3 or above qualification in Early Years childcare is required.
• Excellent knowledge of the EYFS & Statutory framework is essential.
• Must possess excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Capable of using own initiative in various situations.
• Passion for engaging with and caring for children is necessary.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all areas of the EYFS and Statutory Framework are met at all times.
• Implement Safeguarding/Child Protection Policies and Procedures.
• Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children.
• Maintain highest standards of cleanliness/tidiness within the nursery.
• Adhere to all Company policies and procedures.

Location: Little Elms Beckenham Queens Road

Position: Nursery Practitioner

Salary: £27,040 - £32,000 per year (Full-time, 40 hours per week, 4 days per week)

You will be based at the Beckenham Queens Road Nursery. The company does not sponsor employment for international workers; you must provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Up to £2,000 Welcome Bonus (subject to normal tax and NI deductions). The bonus will be paid in two instalments: £500 after the first salary payment following joining, and another £500 upon completion of probation (6 months, unless extended).

  • Ensuring all areas of the EYFS and Statutory Framework are met at all times.
  • Ensuring Safeguarding/Child Protection Policies and Procedures are implemented.
  • Provide a safe and stimulating environment for the children, taking children's individual needs into consideration.
  • Ensuring the nursery offers an environment which reflects the cultural diversity of all children.
  • Follow Observation, Planning and Assessment Framework within the Little Elms Group.
  • Reflect on daily practise and identify areas for continuous improvement.
  • Build and maintain effective partnerships with parents.
  • To be the key person for a designated group of children (not applicable to relief or lunch cover).
• Health & Safety
  • Respond to, and report health and safety issues as and when they arise.
  • Maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness/tidiness within the nursery.
  • Carrying out health and safety checks in line with Company Policy.
  • Follow control measures detailed within Company Risk Assessments.
• General
  • Responsible for duties associated with the nursery playroom(s), such as maintaining children’s records and any other duties as reasonably requested.
