Job summary

Family First, Just Imagine Day Nursery - Vange in Basildon, is seeking a Level 2 Nursery Practitioner to join our toddler room. This full-time role offers a 40-hour week across Monday to Friday, all year round, with a salary of £27,040 per annum and a warm, home‑from‑home environment.

You will support early years development, follow EYFS guidelines, and maintain high standards of cleanliness. DBS checks required; staff parking available, and generous benefits await dedicated team members.

Qualifications

• Level 2 childcare qualification is essential.
• Fluent in written and spoken English is essential.
• Over 1 year of experience in Early Years is desirable.
• Knowledge of EYFS regulatory requirements is desirable.
• A DBS check will be required on appointment.

Responsibilities

• Provide stimulating and purposeful experiences, environments, and resources to children, appropriate to their age and stage of development.
• Understand and ensure that the requirements of the EYFS are met.
• Ensure the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene in the nursery and promote these daily in every routine.
• Maintain strictly professional relationships and report any complaints or concerns to management in accordance with company policy and procedures.
• Facilitate a strong key person approach to enable children to form secure attachments and cover all children daily when colleagues are absent.
• Attend regular team meetings to ensure that you remain updated on key priorities, changes, developments and regularly review company policies and procedures.

As a Nursery Practitioner, you will:

What we are looking for:

• Full and relevant Level 2 childcare qualification - essential
• Fluent in written and spoken English - essential
• Over 1 year’s experience of working in Early Years - desirable
• Knowledge of the Statutory framework for the EYFS and regulatory requirements – desirable
