Job summary

Family First's Just Imagine Day Nursery - Vange in Basildon is seeking a reliable Nursery Housekeeper to keep our nursery clean, safe and welcoming for children, families and staff.

This permanent, part-time role is 10 hours per week, Monday–Friday 5:30pm–7:30pm, at £12.71 per hour. Benefits include 75% childcare discount, a birthday off, employee wellbeing programme and opportunities to grow within the Family First Group.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual.
• Able to work independently.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and COSHH procedures.
• Experience in cleaning or housekeeping.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas.
• Sweep, mop, dust, sanitise surfaces and empty bins.
• Clean and disinfect children’s bathrooms and changing areas.
• Support laundry duties and kitchen cleaning.
• Monitor cleaning stock levels and restock as needed.
• Follow Health & Safety and infection control procedures.
• Assist with periodic deep cleaning tasks.
• Work with nursery team to maintain a safe environment.

The role:

As Nursery Housekeeper, you will help maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery.Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and maintaining playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communalareas
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and emptying bins
• Cleaning and disinfecting children's bathrooms, nappy changing areas,and high-touch surfaces
• Supporting laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, andorganising nursery linen
• Assisting with washing up and maintaining cleanliness within kitchenareas
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately
• Monitoring cleaning stock levels and reporting replenishmentrequirements
• Following Health & Safety, COSHH, infection control, andsafeguarding procedures at all times
• Supporting periodic deep cleaning tasks as required
• Working closely with the nursery team to ensure a safe and welcomingenvironment for all
