Job summary

Joining Careers Education is hiring a Nursery Practitioner - Level 2 to join a busy day nursery team in Manchester. You will observe, assess and plan activities to support early years learning and ensure high-quality care.

The role requires a Level 2+ childcare qualification and a DBS check (Enhanced) or DBS certificate registered to the Update Service. You will contribute to a supportive, energetic team and help children flourish daily.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant DfE recognised childcare qualification at Level 2 or above.
• DBS Enhanced Disclosure required or presented DBS Certificate registered to DBS Update Service

Responsibilities

• Observe, assess, and plan effectively to deliver outstanding learning opportunities and care.
• Maintain high standards of quality within the nursery including environment, resources, and experiences for continuous provision, play, learning and development.
• Safeguard and promote health, safety and welfare of children.
• Be aware of signs of abuse and neglect and how to report them.
• Have knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage safeguarding and welfare requirements.
• Liaise with external agencies and parents to provide best care.
• Work as part of a team, communicating effectively to ensure smooth nursery operations.

Education

DfE recognised childcare qualification at Level 2 or above (e.g., NNEB, NVQ, Early Years Educator)

Key Responsibilities
• Observe, assess, and plan effectively in order to deliver outstanding learning opportunities and exceptional care for children in the early years.
• Provide high standards of quality within the nursery including the environment, resources, and experiences offered to the children so they can access continuous provision, play, learn and develop.
• To safeguard and promote the health, safety, and welfare of children.
• To be aware of the signs of abuse and neglect and how to report these.
• To have a great knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage safeguarding and welfare requirements.
• To liaise with external agencies and parents to provide the best care for children.
• To work as part of a team, communicating effectively to ensure the smooth running of the nursery and giving support to other team members wherever needed.

Qualifications and Educational Requirements
Full and relevant DfE recognised childcare qualification at Level 2 or above such as, NNEB, NVQ or Early Years Educator as a minimum requirement.
If you are successful with your application, you will be required to complete a DBS Enhanced Application or present a current DBS Certificate that has been registered to the DBS Subscription Update Service
