Job summary

Randstad UK is seeking Supply Nursery Practitioners for flexible day-to-day cover across nurseries in Basingstoke. You can work 1 day a week or full-time, choosing when and where you work to fit your life, with opportunities to gain valuable experience in 0–5 age settings.

Qualified staff and experienced childcare practitioners are welcome. Responsibilities include supporting routines, safeguarding, and maintaining a safe environment while building continuous experience across settings.

Qualifications

• Experience caring for children aged 0–5.
• Early Years qualification (CACHE/NVQ Level 2/3) or equivalent.
• Reliable, adaptable, punctual with a positive attitude.
• Enhanced DBS check with Update Service and references.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive care for children aged 0–5 across baby, toddler, and preschool rooms.
• Support nursery routines with indoor play, outdoor learning, meals, and naps.
• Create a fun, safe, and stimulating environment for children throughout the day.
• Uphold hygiene, safeguarding and health & safety standards at every setting.

Supply Nursery Practitioner (Flexible Shifts) - Basingstoke

Are you looking for complete flexibility around your work-life balance? We are currently recruiting reliable, enthusiastic Supply Nursery Practitioners for day-to-day cover across welcoming nurseries and early years settings in Basingstoke. Whether you are looking for 1 day a week or full 5-day cover, supply work lets you choose when and where you work while gaining valuable experience. We welcome applications from both qualified staff and experienced childcare practitioners.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, attentive care for children aged 0-5 years across baby, toddler, and preschool rooms.
• Step seamlessly into nursery routines, supporting permanent staff with indoor play, outdoor learning, snack/meal times, and nap routines.
• Help create a fun, safe, and stimulating environment for the children throughout the day.
• Promote good hygiene and uphold strict safeguarding and health & safety standards at every setting you visit.

Qualifications

Experience: Proven experience working or volunteering with children aged 0-5.

Qualifications: For qualified rates, a CACHE, NVQ Level 2/3, or equivalent Early Years qualification is required. We also welcome applications from experienced individuals without formal childcare qualifications.

Reliability: Adaptable, friendly, punctual, and confident stepping into new nursery environments with a positive, can-do attitude.

Requirements: Candidates must hold or undergo an Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service and provide verifiable professional references.
