Job summary

TeacherActive is searching for a dedicated Nursery Practitioner to join a local Saffron Walden nursery on a long-term basis. The role offers either part-time or full-time hours with a minimum of £14.25 per hour and potential increases based on qualifications and experience.

Immediate starts are available, and candidates with notice periods are welcome to apply. The ideal candidate will hold recognised Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualifications and have a background in Early Years.

Qualifications

• Qualified Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification is required.
• Experience in childcare and working with young children is preferred.
• Strong reliability and confidence in supporting children's learning.
• Ability to adhere to safeguarding procedures.

TeacherActive is working closely with a fantastic local nursery that is looking to welcome a committed and enthusiastic Nursery Practitioner to their team. This is a long-term position for someone who wants to become part of a nursery, build strong relationships with the children and staff, and develop their career within Early Years.

The nursery is looking for someone who is passionate about childcare, reliable and confident in supporting children's learning and development.

The ideal candidate:

The nursery is ideally looking for a qualified Early Years professional with a recognised Level 2 or Level 3 childcare qualification.

• Level 3 Diploma in Early Years Education
• CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Childcare and Education

• Other recognised Level 2 or Level 3 Early Years and Childcare qualifications

Candidates without a formal qualification may also be considered where they have strong and relevant childcare experience.

This could include previous experience as a Nursery Assistant, Early Years Assistant, Childcare Assistant, Playworker, Teaching Assistant or another role involving regular work with young children.

Previous nursery experience and experience supporting children aged 0–5 would be advantageous.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing high-quality care and support to children
• Supporting children's development through play and engaging activities
• Building positive relationships with children and their families
• Helping to create a safe, stimulating and welcoming environment
• Supporting daily nursery routines
• Working closely with colleagues to provide consistent care
• Following safeguarding procedures and nursery policies
• Contributing to observations and children's learning and development

The TeacherActive process:

I will personally carry out an initial pre-screening interview with you to discuss your experience, qualifications, availability and what you are looking for from your next position.

I will then ensure all necessary compliance documents are completed before putting you forward to the nursery. Suitable candidates will subsequently be invited to an interview with the nursery.
