Job description

HMP Peterborough is recruiting a dedicated and caring Nursery Nurse to provide safe, high-quality education and care for pre-school children. The role includes supporting visiting health professionals, students, parents, pregnant prisoners, and MBU officers.

Main Responsibilities

1. Support team members and participate in decision-making processes.
2. Liaise with and support parents, regardless of their status.
3. Be flexible within the working practices of the prison and nursery, including domestic duties within the nursery.
4. Collaborate with management and team members on the mother and baby unit to uphold Sodexo's beliefs and project philosophies.
5. Work with external agencies involved with mothers and babies, such as health visitors, doctors, and volunteers.
6. Record all accidents and observations, report appropriately, and ensure compliance with OFSTED guidelines.
7. Maintain confidentiality of all received information.
8. Complete 4-week and ongoing 8-week care plans with the mother, child, and MBU manager.
9. Ensure food prepared for children adheres to Basic Food Hygiene guidelines.

Package Details

£24,570 per annum
