iCaSH Peterborough – Healthcare Assistant (HCA) – 30hrs, Band 3 (2 vacancies)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, committed, and experienced Healthcare Assistant, Band 3, to provide high-quality services to the community using the Integrated Contraception & Sexual Health (iCaSH) Services across Peterborough.

This is a permanent part-time position within the iCaSH Peterborough Service. We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with 'front of house' experience and the ability to develop a warm, welcoming rapport with service users.

The successful candidate will have a keen eye for detail and an understanding of the sensitivity and confidentiality involved in delivering contraception, sexual health, and HIV services.

Applicants must hold a Care Certificate qualification, be trained in phlebotomy and chaperone duties, or demonstrate a willingness to undertake such training.

The service operates Monday to Saturday, including evening clinics. Candidates must be willing to work across all parts of the service, including evenings and weekends, and meet the Trust's travel requirements.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Welcoming patients and obtaining relevant personal and clinical details, maintaining confidentiality.
  2. Acting as a chaperone and assisting clinicians during intimate examinations and procedures, post-training and once competent.
  3. Providing phlebotomy services following training.
  4. Supporting and guiding patients to appropriate services or agencies.
  5. Participating in outreach and health promotion events.
  6. Providing non-judgemental care to all client groups.
  7. Performing non-clinical duties such as reception, call handling, patient registration, and data collection.
  8. Interpreting microscopy slides and documenting findings as directed.
  9. Administering prescribed vaccines following training and approval.
  10. Holding or undertaking training to meet Care Certificate standards.
