Job Description:

Purpose of the post: To provide high standards of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual care for children in the nursery. Support other staff, implement daily routines, and ensure compliance with policies, legislation, and standards.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Adhering to nursery policies and procedures, complying with The Children Act, Health and Safety legislation, and OFSTED standards.
  • Contributing to activity planning to meet children's individual needs and promote progression.
  • Observing and documenting children's development, maintaining developmental files.
  • Liaising with and supporting parents and families.
  • Assisting with daily tasks such as snack preparation and cleaning, and participating in out-of-hours activities like staff meetings and events.
  • Promoting equal opportunities and positive behavior management.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety of rooms and equipment.
  • Role modeling for assistants and students, supporting new staff integration.
  • Supervising meals, snacks, and medication administration, ensuring safety and hygiene.
  • Respecting confidentiality and working collaboratively within the team.
  • Upholding high standards and continuously developing industry knowledge.

Additional duties as directed by the nursery.
