Job summary

Protocol Education is recruiting a Nursery Manager to lead a thriving nursery in West Leeds. Based in Leeds, the role oversees day-to-day operations, safeguarding, compliance and educational outcomes for children aged 0 to 5 years, with a focus on leading a supportive team.

You will manage staffing, budgets and quality improvement while building strong relationships with families and external professionals.

Qualifications

• A minimum Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 5 or above desirable).
• Previous experience in a Nursery Manager or Deputy Manager role.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
• Excellent organisational, communication and leadership skills.
• A passion for delivering outstanding care and education.

Responsibilities

• Leading and managing the nursery team, including Room Leaders, Practitioners and support staff.
• Driving high-quality teaching, learning and outcomes through EYFS implementation.
• Acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead and promoting safeguarding culture.
• Building positive relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Managing staffing, occupancy, budgets, resources and compliance.
• Supporting recruitment, induction, supervision, training and performance management.
• Maintaining an inspection-ready environment and leading quality improvement.
