Job summary

Family First Nurseries is seeking an experienced Nursery Manager for the Kentish Town Day Nursery and preschool. You will lead a well‑established setting, uphold the highest standards of care, education and safeguarding, and inspire your staff to deliver outstanding outcomes for children and families.

You will oversee EYFS compliance, team development, and strong parent partnerships, with a supportive leadership structure and clear opportunities for progression within the Family First Group.

Qualifications

• Level 3 childcare qualification is required.
• Strong knowledge of the EYFS framework and safeguarding requirements.
• Experience leading and developing teams in an Early Years setting.
• A passion for high-quality childcare and education.
• Level 5 qualification in Leadership or Management is advantageous.
• Experience of achieving Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day operation of the nursery with emphasis on safety, care and education.
• Ensure EYFS compliance and regulatory requirements are met.
• Motivate and develop the nursery team to deliver high standards of practice.
• Build strong partnerships with families through clear communication and involvement.
• Oversee nursery operations, occupancy and overall performance.
• Prepare for Ofsted inspections and drive quality improvements.
• Support staff wellbeing and foster a collaborative workplace culture.
• Ensure high-quality, engaging learning experiences tailored to each child.
