Job summary

Early Years Academy is seeking a Nursery Manager for Brislington, Bristol, to lead day-to-day operations and ensure high standards of childcare and education.

You will manage staff, oversee recruitment, training and safeguarding in line with EYFS and Ofsted requirements, while developing a strong relationship with parents and external professionals.

The role offers a permanent contract with scope for professional development and leadership growth within a supportive team.

Qualifications

• A recognised Level 3 qualification in Childcare or Early Years.
• Experience in nursery management or a senior Early Years leadership position.
• Strong understanding of EYFS, safeguarding and Ofsted requirements.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Experience mentoring nursery staff.
• Confidence managing staffing, operational standards and parent relationships.
• Genuine passion for delivering high-quality Early Years education.
• Level 5 qualification would be advantageous, but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the day-to-day operation of the nursery.
• Ensure high standards of childcare and education in line with EYFS.
• Maintain compliance with Ofsted requirements, safeguarding legislation and nursery policies.
• Lead, motivate and develop the nursery team.
• Oversee staff recruitment, supervision, training and performance.
• Support the delivery of engaging, inclusive and stimulating learning experiences.
• Build strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals.
• Monitor occupancy, staffing ratios and operational performance.
• Manage budgets, resources and nursery administration.
• Maintain safeguarding, health and safety and safer recruitment procedures.
• Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards across the setting.
