Job summary

Banana Moon Day Nursery in Royston is opening a brand new setting and seeking an exceptional Nursery Manager to lead the team and deliver outstanding early years education.

You will manage day-to-day operations, embed our Banana Moon Curriculum, recruit and onboard staff, build strong ties with families and ensure safety and regulatory compliance while delivering a supportive, high-quality environment.

Qualifications

• Full and relevant Level 3 or above Early Years qualification as defined by the Department for Education on the EYFS list.
• DBS enhanced disclosure within the child workforce sector.
• Paediatric 12hr First Aid certificate.
• Safeguarding training and qualification.
• Minimum of 2 years management experience.
• Sound knowledge of the EYFS framework and statutory requirements.
• Proven history of managing settings to achieve a 'good' or 'outstanding' grading.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Full-time (40 hours) between 7:30am and 6:30pm.

Responsibilities

• Implement and maintain policies and procedures, ensuring regulatory compliance.
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursery, including building a positive local reputation and staff deployment.
• Embed the Banana Moon Curriculum and play-based learning approach.
• Lead operations and oversee recruitment and onboarding of the team.
• Build strong relationships with families and communicate effectively about child development milestones.
• Ensure health, safety and well-being of staff and children.
