Job summary

Kiddie Capers Childcare in Portslade area is seeking a Nursery Manager to oversee daily nursery operations, lead the team and deliver high-quality EYFS education in a nurturing setting. You will shape the nursery ethos, maintain standards and build strong parent and community relationships.

Salary: £42,000 per annum, 40 hours per week, Mon-Fri. Requirements include prior Nursery Manager experience, Level 3 EY qualification, excellent communication and safeguarding commitment.

Qualifications

• Experience as Nursery Manager in a nursery setting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure high standards of care, education and EYFS delivery.
• Manage and support nursery staff, fostering a nurturing environment and regulatory compliance.
• Act as Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) and liaise with external agencies as required.
• Maintain health, safety and hygiene standards with daily checks and records.
• Engage with parents/carers to build strong partnerships.
• Plan and deliver stimulating activities supporting child development.
• Monitor progress and ensure inclusive, tailored planning.
• Oversee welfare, personal care and nutrition for children.
• Organise safe outings and external activities.
• Uphold nursery policies and confidentiality; be a key holder for emergencies.

We are looking for a Nursery Manager to join our team and lead our Kiddie Capers Childcare Fishersgate, setting . In this role, you will play a pivotal role in leading and inspiring our team to provide exceptional care and Early Years education for young children. You will oversee the daily running of the nursery, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment that supports each child's development. Your leadership will help shape the Nursery's ethos, maintain high standards, and foster strong relationships with parents, staff, and the wider community.

Salary & Hours:

£42,000 per annum

40 hours Monday-Friday (4 or 5 days)

Job Requirements:

• Experience of being a Nursery Manager in a nursery setting
• A minimum of level 3 qualification in Early Years Education or equivalent
• Excellent communication, leadership and interpersonal skills

Job Responsibilities:

• Ensure a high standard of care, education, and EYFS delivery within the setting
• Manage and support nursery staff, promoting a nurturing environment while ensuring compliance with childcare regulations and quality standards
• Responsible for safeguarding as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) for the setting and working with outside agencies when required
• Maintain high health, safety and hygiene standards, including daily checks and accurate record-keeping
• Liaise professionally with parents/carers, promoting strong partnerships
• Plan and deliver stimulating activities that support children's development
• Monitor individual child progress and ensure inclusive, tailored planning
• Support children's welfare, including personal care and nutrition
• Organise safe, well-managed outings and external activities
• Ensure confidentiality and uphold all nursery policies and procedures
• Be a key holder and respond to emergencies as required
• Collaborate with external professionals and participate in ongoing staff training
