Job summary

Cherubs Nurseries in Mansfield is seeking a Nursery Chef to join our Wynndale site. The role is 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday 7am-1pm, cooking nutritious meals and supporting a caring, learning-focused environment for children.

You will work with a friendly team in a family-run business that values development, internal progression, and high kitchen hygiene and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Right to work in the United Kingdom; DBS and two satisfactory references.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook healthy and nutritious meals and snacks for children, from approved Cherubs Nurseries menus.
• Take an active role championing cooking and baking across all areas of the nursery, including events.
• Remove kitchen waste regularly and dispose of in correct bins.
• Complete the weekly ordering of food and liaise with Head Office for payment.
• Maintain high standards of hygiene, cleanliness and organisation in the kitchen.
• Maintain adequate stock levels and ensure food doesn’t go to waste.
• Ensure good stock rotation in cupboards, fridges and freezers.
• Be aware of health and safety legislation relevant to nursery kitchen.
• Ensure the Kitchen Operations Pack is followed and updated.
• Keep accurate records of fridge and freezer temperatures.
