Job summary

Clarence House Day Nurseries is seeking a Kitchen Assistant for the nursery kitchen. The role is 20 hours per week, 10am–2pm, Monday to Friday, term-time only. Rate of pay is £12.21 per hour.

The post involves meal preparation, unloading deliveries and maintaining the kitchen space under the guidance of the Nursery Manager. Ideal candidates will be self-motivated, team players with good communication skills and a willingness to pursue Food Hygiene qualifications.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a kitchen environment is desirable.
• Willingness to complete suitable Food Hygiene qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare meals and desserts as directed by the Nursery Manager.
• Unload deliveries and organise storeroom as directed.
• Wash, store and dry crockery, pots, pans and cutlery using the dishwasher.
• Clean kitchen surfaces, cooker and floor daily.
• Undertake other duties as required by the Nursery Manager.

Clarence House Day Nurseries is a group of nurseries in East Anglia and East Midlands. We are currently looking for a Kitchen Assistant to work in our nursery kitchen.

You will be working 20 hours a week, 10am - 2pm Monday to Friday. This position is for Term-Time Only.

Your rate of pay will be £12.21 an hour.

Duties and responsibilities:

• Preparation of food to include cooking meals and preparing fruit, vegetables and desserts as directed by the Nursery Manager.
• Unloading deliveries and supplies and organising the storeroom as directed.
• Collecting, cleaning and storing the crockery, pots, pans and cutlery using the nursery dishwasher.
• Daily cleaning of kitchen surfaces including the cooker and microwave, sweeping and mopping the floor.
• Undertaking such other duties and responsibilities as determined from time to time by the Nursery Manager

In addition, you should hold or be willing to complete suitable qualifications in Food Hygiene and preparation.
