Blossom Tree Montessori in Northwood Hills is hiring an Assistant Chef for its nursery. You will assist the Head Chef, prepare meals for up to 112 children daily, and ensure allergy, hygiene and safety procedures are followed.

The role is permanent and located near Joel Street, with flexible hours discussed. The ideal candidate has nursery/school kitchen experience, Food Hygiene Level 2, and NVQ levels 1/2 in chef training; you should be able to work independently or as part of a team and handle

Qualifications

• Experience of working in a Nursery or School kitchen is essential.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 Certificate is essential.
• NVQ Level 1 and 2 Chef training is essential.
• Hard-working, good time management skills and can work well on their own and as part of a team.
• Ability to multi-task and work under pressure.
• Safeguarding is taken seriously; a current and clean DBS Certificate is essential.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the Head Chef with cooking, preparation and the running of the kitchen.
• Preparing and cooking for up to 112 children per day.
• Following procedures to ensure allergies, intolerances and preferences are taken into consideration for all children.
• Maintain the hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring daily and weekly cleaning duties are complete.
• Ensuring all the Food Safety documents are updated daily.
• Follow COSHH procedures; store cleaning materials safely and keep records up to date.
• Ordering of food on a weekly basis.
• Training of new staff in the kitchen.

At Blossom Tree Montessori, we are recruiting for an Assistant Chef to join our nursery in Northwood Hills. We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, reliable and hard working to provide healthy and nutritious meals for our children. This is a permanent role and hours can be discussed. We are in a very convenient location on Joel Street. The station is only a 7 minute walk away and there is a bus stop right outside the nursery.
