Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery in Horley is seeking a Kitchen Assistant to join our busy kitchen team. Working hours are 1-6pm, Monday to Friday (25 hours per week), supporting the Nursery Chef to prepare healthy meals for the children.

You will bring kitchen experience, a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2, and a collaborative, organised approach. We emphasise hygiene, safety, and following recipes and menus for nutritious meals, while observing COSHH and health and safety standards.

Qualifications

• You will have experience working in a kitchen environment and enjoy working as part of a team.
• You will be passionate about preparing and cooking healthy, nutritional food and respond well to instruction and direction.

Responsibilities

• Support the Cook/Chef to prepare healthy, nutritious meals and snacks for the children.
• Ensure kitchen hygiene and cleanliness meet Environmental Health standards and legislation.
• Follow COSHH procedures.
• Serve the correct food to children and manage allergies awareness at all times.
• Receive and unload food and equipment deliveries.
