Job summary

Toad Hall Nursery Group seeks a kitchen assistant to serve meals and snacks to children in our Walton-on-Thames nursery. You will maintain top hygiene standards and assist with ordering within budget, while engaging with children through cookery activities.

The role requires a Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification and kitchen experience, with a focus on safe, nutritious meals and timely service throughout the day.

Qualifications

• A Level 3 qualification in basic food hygiene (essential).
• Experience in a kitchen with emphasis on hygiene, cleanliness and dietary requirements.
• Organised and able to follow health and safety procedures.
• Good budgeting, time management and ability to coordinate meals.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and snacks to children and maintain a friendly kitchen atmosphere.
• Keep high hygiene and cleanliness standards in line with procedures.
• Order food supplies within an agreed budget.
• Lead cookery activities and work with children on tasty, nutritious meals.
