Job summary

Bright Horizons Bracknell is looking for an Early Years Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef in preparing and cooking meals for children, ensuring a clean, safe kitchen and minimal waste.

You will cover in the Chef's absence, cater to dietary requirements, and communicate them clearly to teams. The role offers a salary starting from £26,662 to £27,846 per annum, plus benefits and a HEART culture that supports growth.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a cooking role, domestic or commercial
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating
• Knowledge of managing dietary requirements, including allergies
• Food Safety Level 2 or above (to be passed on day 1)
• COSHH awareness
• Good communication with staff, children and parents
• Ability to work under pressure

Responsibilities

• Support the Chef in preparing and cooking age-appropriate meals with minimal waste
• Keep the kitchen clean and safe at all times
• In the Chef's absence, run the kitchen and ensure dietary requirements are clearly communicated to teams
