Job summary

Bright Horizons Wooldale Day Nursery and Preschool in Wootton, Northampton is seeking an Early Years Kitchen Assistant to support the Chef with age-appropriate meal preparation and kitchen safety. You will ensure dietary requirements are accommodated and take responsibility for the kitchen when the Chef is away.

The role is Monday-Friday, 10am-2pm, with on-site parking and access to Bright Horizons’ benefits. A DBS check is required upon appointment.

Qualifications

• Previous cooking experience in a domestic or commercial setting.
• Passion for nutrition and healthy eating.
• Knowledge of dietary requirements and allergies.
• Food Safety Level 2 or higher.
• COSHH knowledge.
• Excellent communication with children, parents and colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and cooking of meals for all children.
• Maintain kitchen cleanliness and minimise wastage.
• Ensure dietary requirements are clearly communicated to teams.
• Step in to run the kitchen in the absence of the Chef.
