Job summary

Trilakes Nursery in Sandhurst is seeking a reliable Kitchen Support to assist our nursery team and ensure smooth operations behind the scenes. You will serve meals and snacks to children, keep meal areas clean, and help with clearing and hygiene as part of a collaborative team.

The role emphasizes teamwork, organisation, and a proactive approach in a busy childcare setting. The position offers sociable hours with a focus on togetherness and high standards of cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Serve meals and snacks to children
• Prepare and organise meal areas
• Support with clearing, cleaning, and resetting after mealtimes
• Always follow food hygiene and safety procedures
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the nursery
• Clean and tidy rooms, communal areas, and kitchen spaces
• Support laundry, dishwashing, and general upkeep
• Help create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment
• Help staff during busy periods (especially mealtimes)
• Support routines and transitions where needed
• Work collaboratively with the team to keep the day running smoothly
• Follow all health & safety and hygiene procedures
• Support infection control and cleaning routines
• Report any issues or concerns to the management team

Salary: £12.71 per hour

This role is all about supporting, serving, and keeping things running smoothly.

You’ll be responsible for

Kitchen Support

• Serve meals and snacks to children
• Prepare and organise meal areas
• Support with clearing, cleaning, and resetting after mealtimes

Housekeeping & Environment

• Maintain high standards of cleanliness across the nursery
• Clean and tidy rooms, communal areas, and kitchen spaces

Supporting the Nursery Team

• Help staff during busy periods (especially mealtimes)
