Job summary

Caring Kindergartens Ltd is seeking a dedicated childcare practitioner with a Level 2 qualification to join our team in the Peterborough area. You will support children's progression, deliver diverse play activities and promote a warm, inclusive environment for every child.

Strong English, safeguarding awareness and experience in an early years setting are essential, along with a cleared DBS check. You will work collaboratively with staff to ensure high standards of care and development.

Qualifications

• Level 2 childcare qualification, recognised by the Department for Education.
• Strong understanding of the EYFS.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices.
• Previous childcare experience in an early years setting.
• Cleared DBS check.
• Ability to extend children’s learning through high-quality experiences.
• Ability to manage a group of key children.
• Good communication with both adults and children.
• Commitment to reflective practice and self-development.

Responsibilities

• Work as part of a team, acting as key worker for a group of children.
• Observe, record and assess progress with observations supported by photographic evidence.
• Develop high-quality interactions with children, to build on and extend their thinking and learning.
• Plan, prepare and deliver a wide range of play experiences that promote children’s physical, intellectual and emotional development.
• Ensure activities are drawn from children’s next steps, observations and interests within EYFS.
• Support each child in developing self-esteem, confidence and feelings of competence.
• Provide a positive model of behaviour toward children, families and colleagues.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current issues through training and workshops.
• Collaborate with colleagues to create a positive, proactive nursery team.
