Job summary

Little Dukes is seeking a Finance Assistant to support financial operations across its nursery settings. The role involves managing ledgers, performing reconciliations, and collaborating with stakeholders to ensure efficient financial processes. Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs including Maths and English.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in using computerised financial systems.

Responsibilities

  • Support the Bursars and Finance Director with finance functions.
  • Manage purchase and sales ledger activities.
  • Perform bank reconciliations.

Job description

The role may be worked in a hybrid manner (Head Office, nursery settings and remotely).

The Finance Assistant will provide support to the Bursars, Financial Controller and Finance Director for the finance functions across Little Dukes, Nurseries.

Qualifications

Essential

  • 5 GCSEs at Grade C (4) or above or equivalent including Maths and English.
  • Knowledge of basic financial procedures, policies and accounting code structures.
  • Ability to identify errors and make corrections to financial records.
  • Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word etc.)

Desirable

  • AAT degree or Equivalent.
  • Familiarity with making payments / submitting receipts via the BACS system.

Experience

  • Experience of performing control account reconciliations including bank reconciliations .
  • Experience of utilising a computerised financial system (Xero, Sage or similar packages).
  • Experience of tracing transactions from a management information system to an accounting system and vice versa.

General Responsibilities

  • Assisting Financial Controller wherever required.
  • Developing good working relationships with stakeholders - Nursery Principals & Heads, Parents, Registrars, Suppliers and other members of LD finance function.
