Job summary

Dumfries and Galloway Council is seeking an Early Years Support Assistant for Cargenbridge Primary Nursery. The post covers 23.75 hours per week, 39 weeks per year, for up to one year to cover maternity leave. The role may suit secondment with line manager agreement.

The successful candidate will work with children aged 3-5, supporting learning, play and development in a nurturing environment in line with school policies and SSSC registration requirements.

Qualifications

• SCQF level 6 in Social Services, Children & Young People or equivalent.
• Ability to work with young children and support learning activities.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and equality policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist in delivery of early years curriculum in Nursery settings.
• Support children's learning and development under supervision and within policies.
