Job summary

Pure Care Recruitment is seeking a Nursery Deputy Manager for a welcoming Romsey nursery. The role supports the Nursery Manager, leads staff, upholds safeguarding and EYFS standards, and contributes to the daily operation and child care quality.

The successful candidate will have a Level 3 Early Years qualification or above and proven leadership in early years settings, with a focus on staff development, family engagement, and ensuring a safe, enriching environment for children.

Nursery Deputy Manager | Salary: £32,513 – £42,439.50 | 40 Hours | Full Time

As Nursery Deputy Manager, you will play an important role in supporting the overall management and daily operations of the nursery. Working closely with the Nursery Manager, you will help lead, motivate and inspire the staff team, ensuring children receive the highest standards of care, education and support.

The Nursery Deputy Manager will also take responsibility for safeguarding as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL), ensuring all policies and procedures are followed and that children are kept safe at all times.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Supporting the day-to-day running of the nursery.
• Leading, mentoring and developing the staff team.
• Maintaining high standards of safeguarding and child protection.
• Supporting staff training and professional development.
• Building positive relationships with parents and external professionals.
• Ensuring EYFS requirements and nursery policies are followed.
• Supporting occupancy, budgets and the overall success of the setting.

What we are looking for:

The ideal Nursery Deputy Manager will hold a full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above, alongside previous experience in an early years leadership position. You should have a strong understanding of the EYFS framework, safeguarding and child protection requirements.

We are looking for a confident and approachable Nursery Deputy Manager who can make decisions, support colleagues and build strong relationships with children, parents and staff.

Salary and Benefits:

• Salary between £32,513 and £42,439.50, depending on qualifications and experience.
