Job summary

JEM Childcare Solutions Limited is seeking an experienced Senior Practitioner aiming to step up from Room Leader into a Deputy Manager role at a Leicester nursery. The salary is up to £38k for a 40-hour week, with excellent benefits offered by an established nursery.

The ideal candidate will hold a Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification, have 3+ years of leadership or supervisory experience, and demonstrate strong knowledge of EYFS, safeguarding, and Ofsted requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (full and relevant).
• Experience leading or supporting a team in a nursery or early years setting (3+ years).
• Experience in a management role supporting the nursery in the absence of the Manager.

Responsibilities

• Lead and support staff to deliver high-quality care and education.
• Ensure compliance with EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding practices.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff in the nursery setting.
• Support and supervise staff while maintaining high standards across the setting.

Based in Leicester, North East of the City, our clients are seeking an experienced senior practitioner who may wish to step up from Room Leader into a Deputy Manager role, you will need to be an experienced Room Leader, or maybe a deputy manager looking for a new challenge, salary is up to £38k depending on experience, based on 40 hr working week, with great benefits with this very well established nursery.

Essential for the Nursery Deputy Manager Role

• A minimum Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (full and relevant)
• A minimum 3 years’ experience leading or supporting a team in a nursery or early years setting
• Has experience of being in a management role, supporting the nursery in the absence of the Manager
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding practices
• Support and supervise staff while delivering high-quality care and education across the nursery setting
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures within the setting
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff in the nursery setting
