Job summary

Cirencester-based nursery is seeking an experienced Deputy Manager to assist in daily operations alongside the Manager. Initially maternity cover, with potential for permanent role at end of mat cover contract. 40 hours per week over 4 days, with paid lunch breaks. Salary around £33k depending on experience.

The ideal candidate holds a Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification and has 3+ years in a leadership or supervisory role within a nursery, with strong EYFS and safeguarding knowledge.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (full and relevant).
• At least 3 years’ experience leading or supporting a team in a nursery or early years setting.
• Experience in a management role, supporting the nursery in the absence of the Manager.

Responsibilities

• Support the day to day running of the nursery alongside the Manager.
• Lead or support staff and ensure high-quality care and education.
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures within the setting.
• Build positive relationships with children, families and staff.

Our clients, based in Cirencester are looking for an experienced Deputy Manager to join the team in supporting the day to day running of this busy nursery alongside the Manager. Initially a maternity cover role, but the client is happy to consider this a permanent role at the end of the mat cover contract. A 40 hr working week over 4 days, with paid lunch breaks, our clients are offering c£33k depending on experience.

Requirements

• A minimum Level 3 Early Years / Childcare qualification (full and relevant)
• A minimum 3 years’ experience leading or supporting a team in a nursery or early years setting
• Has experience of being in a management role, supporting the nursery in the absence of the Manager
• Strong knowledge of EYFS, Ofsted requirements, and safeguarding practices
• Support and supervise staff while delivering high-quality care and education across the nursery setting
• Ensure compliance with policies and procedures within the setting
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff in the nursery setting
