Job description

Join Childbase Partnership and be part of something extraordinary.

At Childbase Partnership, we have been delivering childcare excellence since 1989. Our mission is to give children the best possible start in life and instill a lifelong passion for learning. Across our 44 nurseries, Head Office, and Training Academy of Excellence, our dedicated colleagues work together to create a positive impact in our communities.

We are committed to excellence and strive for the best outcomes for the children in our care and for our colleagues.

What makes us special?

  • We are 100% employee-owned – meaning we are all partners with a meaningful voice and we own our future (including sharing profits tax-free).
  • Sector-leading initiative: “Partnership Reward Days” – offering up to 20 extra paid leave days per year, totaling up to 50 days, with flexible options to sell some days if preferred.
  • Top rankings – we have achieved the top spot in the Nursery World league tables for Ofsted outcomes, thanks to our colleagues.
  • Environmental achievements – record-breaking Green Flag awards and a climate-positive status, reducing more CO2 than we produce.
  • Community contribution – planting over 2,000 trees through the Eden Restoration project.
  • Charitable efforts – raising over £3.5 million for various charities.

Our ethos is simple: we all belong, matter, and contribute. Our core values promote happiness, confidence, and growth, fostering a ‘careers not jobs’ culture, shaping our future together.

Own your future and join us as a Cook / Chef at our Edwalton Day Nursery in Nottingham.

This is a full-time role (37.5 hours/week), working various shifts between 07:30-18:30, Monday to Friday, throughout the year.

Benefits include:

  • From day 1: 75% discount for parents and 40% for grandparents at any Childbase nursery.
  • Generous leave: Starting with 23 days annual leave, rising to 28 days (pro-rata), plus paid bank holidays and up to 20 additional days through Partnership Reward Days.
  • Exclusive rewards: Tax-free dividends, bonus payments, long-service bonuses, retail discounts, family days out, and cycle-to-work schemes.
  • Well-being support: Access to Mental Health First Aiders, free meals, subsidized medical care, flu jabs, eye care vouchers, occupational health, and free will-writing services.
  • Growth opportunities: Training days, professional development, online courses, and apprenticeships at our Training Academy.

We are looking for someone with:

  • Passion for preparing wholesome, healthy meals for children under five, with catering experience to handle a set-menu, using fresh ingredients, and accommodating allergies and dietary needs.
  • Attention to detail, knowledge of COSHH and health legislation, and experience managing budgets.
  • Team spirit, positive role modeling, and the ability to nurture colleagues, children, and parents, promoting healthy eating.
  • Experience working with allergies, dietary requirements, and preferences.
