Job Description:

Willow Tree Nursing Home is looking for a Chef/COOK to join our friendly and dedicated team who share our values and commitment to our residents.

Contracted hours: 33 hours per week

Are you suitable for this role?

• Passion for producing high-quality meals from fresh ingredients.
• Commitment to providing the quality of care our residents deserve.
• Ability to prepare home-baked cakes and biscuits daily; all desserts are made in-house where possible.
• Experience in healthcare is preferred but not essential; training will be provided.

Daily duties include:

• Providing wholesome, nutritious meals following a four-week rotating menu.
• Catering to dietary requirements such as modified textures (IDDSI framework), religious preferences, fortification, diabetes, and others.
• Maintaining temperature records, cleaning rotas, and food safety standards.
• Minimizing waste and adhering to company policies.
• Supervising kitchen staff, managing stock and orders.
• Keeping the kitchen clean and organized.

Requirements include experience in a similar setting, a food hygiene certificate (Level 2 or above), understanding of Safer Foods Better Business, experience with dietary needs, empathy for elderly residents, and a desire to grow within this rewarding environment.
