Job Title: Second Chef

Hours: 40 hours per week

We are currently recruiting a Cook to join our Hospitality team. As a Cook at Runwood Homes, you will deliver hotel/restaurant standards without split shifts and long hours. We seek warm, motivated, and passionate chefs driven by quality and high standards, to provide person-centered hospitality to our residents. Key Responsibilities:

1. Maintain high standards in all stages of food preparation to ensure residents' well-being.
2. Prepare and serve meals according to the menu and company requirements.
3. Comply with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations (England 2013 / Northern Ireland 2006).
4. Ensure meals are presented well and taste excellent.
5. Practice portion control to minimize waste.
6. Meet individual dietary requirements (e.g., high calorie, low sugar) by following appropriate recipes and adapting dishes as needed.
7. Maintain systems and checks to ensure a safe, healthy, and efficient working environment.
8. Store all food and items correctly.
9. Monitor stock levels, ensure effective stock rotation, and place orders when necessary.
10. Deputise for the Head Chef when required.

Experience & Qualifications:

1. Relevant catering experience.
2. NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds equivalent.
3. Team player with good communication skills.
4. Understanding of dietary and nutritional requirements and how to meet them.
5. Genuine interest in working within a caring environment.
6. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels.
7. Successful police check and ISA list check (if applicable).
8. Basic understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974.
