Job description

We are seeking an experienced Nursery Childcare Cook to join our thriving team at our Nursery Setting.

Role Overview

The heartbeat of our Nursery is our team, and an important part of that team is our Nursery Cook, who provides nutritious and healthy meals for the children under our care.

Key Responsibilities

1. Prepare snacks and meals for children (and sometimes staff).
2. Ensure all allergen and dietary requirements are adhered to.
3. Undertake regular deep cleans of the kitchen.
4. Maintain high standards of presentation and cleanliness in the kitchen and serving areas.
5. Present correctly laid out tables and trays as per children’s specifications.
6. Assist the Nursery chef with additional duties related to kitchen, meals, serving, and cleanliness.
7. Prepare fresh, balanced, nutritious meals with passion.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Level 3 Food and Hygiene qualification.
• 1+ years of experience in a similar role.
• Positive attitude and team player.
• Effective communication skills.
• Knowledge of basic health and safety, food safety, and COSHH.
• Willingness to undertake further training as required.

Additional Requirements

Hold a Level 2/3 health & hygiene qualification.
