Job summary

Just Imagine Day Nursery - Vange in Basildon is seeking a reliable Nursery Housekeeper to keep our nursery clean, safe and welcoming for children, families and staff.

This part-time role offers 10 hours per week, Monday to Friday 5:30pm–7:30pm, with a pay rate of £12.71 per hour and benefits including 24 days annual leave, birthday off and an employee wellbeing programme.

Qualifications

• Reliable and punctual; able to work independently.
• Previous cleaning or housekeeping experience.
• Knowledge of safe cleaning practices and COSHH procedures.
• Experience in a nursery, school, healthcare, or similar environment.
• A DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check is required.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communal areas.
• Sweep, mop, dust, sanitise surfaces and empty bins.
• Disinfect children’s bathrooms and high-touch areas.
• Support laundry duties and manage nursery linen.
• Assist with kitchen cleanliness and washing up.
• Follow safety, COSHH, infection control, and safeguarding procedures.
• Support periodic deep cleaning tasks.

The role:

As Nursery Housekeeper, you will help maintainthe highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene throughout the nursery.Responsibilities include:

• Cleaning and maintaining playrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, and communalareas
• Sweeping, mopping, dusting, sanitising surfaces, and emptying bins
• Cleaning and disinfecting children's bathrooms, nappy changing areas,and high-touch surfaces
• Supporting laundry duties, including washing, drying, folding, andorganising nursery linen
• Assisting with washing up and maintaining cleanliness within kitchenareas
• Using cleaning products and equipment safely and appropriately
• Monitoring cleaning stock levels and reporting replenishmentrequirements
• Following Health & Safety, COSHH, infection control, andsafeguarding procedures at all times
• Supporting periodic deep cleaning tasks as required
• Working closely with the nursery team to ensure a safe and welcomingenvironment for all
