Job summary

St George's Nursery in Hucknall is seeking a reliable Nursery Cook to prepare balanced meals and snacks for children. You will plan and cook daily, ensuring dietary needs are met and hygiene standards are maintained.

Collaborate with the Nursery Manager on seasonal menus while keeping accurate records. Part-time role (25 hours/week) with a pay of £12.95 per hour.

Qualifications

• Must hold a valid Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or higher).
• Experience in catering is preferred, especially in childcare, school, or care settings.
• Knowledge of allergens and safe food storage practices.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
• A genuine passion for children's health and nutrition.

The Role

We are seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Nursery Cook to join our team. This is a key role where you’ll ensure children are provided with balanced meals and snacks that meet dietary needs.

You will:

• Plan, prepare, and cook daily meals and snacks for children across the nursery.
• Cater for all dietary requirements, allergies, and cultural preferences.
• Ensure the highest standards of food hygiene and safety are maintained at all times.
• Keep accurate kitchen records, stock checks, and temperature logs.
• Work closely with the Nursery Manager to create seasonal menus that are healthy, appealing, and fun for children.
• Maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment.

What We’re Looking For:

• Food Hygiene certificate (Level 2 or higher).
• Previous experience in catering, ideally in a childcare, school, or care setting.
• Knowledge of allergens and safe food storage.
• Good organisational skills and ability to work independently.
