Job summary

Ruddington Day Nursery, part of Grandir UK, is seeking a Nursery Chef to support the head chef in preparing nutritious meals and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen. You will work 25 hours per week in a friendly, child-focused environment with strong benefits and career progression.

Responsibilities

• Prepare 6 monthly menus gaining feedback from catering staff, Managers and Regional Manager’s to produce final product
• Support and guide catering staff and Nursery Manager
• Monitor catering standards to maintain the highest levels of practice
• Assist and support the Nursery Manager in the recruitment and selection of catering staff
• Audit kitchens in a timely fashion, ensuring they meet TCC and PSN
• Check that all kitchen paperwork is fully complete, accurate and up to date
• Establish and maintain professional working relationships with Nursery staff

About Our Nursery

Ruddington Day Nursery is a happy and friendly nursery, a place where children can thrive in a nurturing and stimulating environment. We’re an established Forest School set in the picturesque village of Ruddington, Nottingham. Our nursery is renowned for its beautiful big garden and spacious grounds overlooking serene horse fields.

Our expansive garden is a standout feature, offering a beautiful outdoor space where children can explore, play, and learn. We also offer Forest School sessions in a dedicated woodland area, where children can take part in activities such as den building, nature crafts, and even fire lighting, helping to build confidence and practical skills.

Ruddington Day Nursery is ideally located in the heart of Ruddington, set within the green belt countryside on Wilford Road between Ruddington and Wilford. Situated just across from the golf club and close to the village centre, the nursery is easily accessible from all areas south of Nottingham, with ample outdoor space that also supports convenient and stress‑free school pick‑ups.
