Job summary

Education Authority in Armagh-Lurgan-King's Park Primary School Lurgan is seeking a Nursery Assistant to support children under the guidance of the class teacher. You will assist with learning activities, prepare resources, and help maintain a safe, caring classroom environment.

The role requires a Level 2 qualification or relevant experience in a preschool setting, with a focus on health and safety, safeguarding, and supportive communication with children and parents.

Qualifications

• Hold a Level 2 qualification (Certificate or Diploma) or have 12 months’ paid experience in a pre-school/nursery environment.
• Knowledge of health and safety requirements, child development, and safeguarding.
• Ability to plan, implement and review activities supporting child-centred learning.

Responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in planning, implementing and evaluating learning activities.
• Prepare materials and resources, display children's work, and support routines.
• Provide supervision and support indoors and outdoors, including personal care as needed.
• Assist with administration such as collecting dinner money and lost property.
