Job summary

Lisburn Sure Start, part of Bryson Group, is recruiting an Early Years Assistant for a fixed term 20 hours per week. The role involves supporting pre-school children with educational and developmental activities in a safe, welcoming environment.

Awaited NVQ Level 3 in Child Care or equivalent, 1 year of relevant experience, and a clean driving licence. Access NI disclosure applies; end date 31 March 2027.

Qualifications

• 1 year’s paid/unpaid experience in an early years setting or additional needs setting.
• Attention to safeguarding and child protection policies.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the planning and delivery of safe, welcoming, inclusive and stimulating activities for young children.
• Support children’s play, learning, exploration and development indoors and outdoors.
• Help provide activities reflecting children’s ages, stages and needs.
• Observe children’s development and share information with staff.
• Follow strategies for supporting children with additional needs.
• Build positive, respectful relationships with parents and carers.
• Promote safety, welfare and wellbeing in all aspects of the role.

Education

NVQ Level 3 Child Care qualification or equivalent or working towards qualification

Grade C or above including English Language and Mathematics

Tools

Clean drivers’ licence, access to transport and Business (Class) Car Insurance
