Job summary

Long-term Teachers is assisting a BS32-area nursery to recruit a dedicated Nursery Assistant to join the team as soon as possible. The role supports young children in a safe, engaging environment and helps with daily routines, play-based learning, and maintaining cleanliness.

You will work with staff and parents to support each child’s needs, observe progress, and follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures. Regular staff meetings and training are provided through the agency.

• Supervise and ensure the safety of children in your care
• Support children’s learning and development through play and structured activities
• Assist with planning and implementing age-appropriate activities
• Help with feeding, changing nappies, and toileting
• Maintain a clean and tidy environment, including cleaning toys and equipment
• Observe and record children's progress and report to senior staff or parents
• Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues
• Support emotional, social, and physical development of children
• Follow safeguarding and health & safety procedures
• Set up and pack away resources and play areas
• Encourage good behaviour and social skills
• Attend staff meetings and relevant training sessions
